Dayton Hamvention 2014, Day 1

dayton hamvention
As I type this post,  I’m sitting on a plane at 33,000 feet.  I’ll have to synch the post later today when I get to the hotel and have Internet access.

My flight from DFW airport left at 9am local time, which puts me into Dayton at noon.  I’m planning to drop my bags at the hotel, grab my HTs, then hop on the bus to the hamfest.  Next year, if I come back,  I’ll plan to leave on Thursday night so that I can take full advantage of both Friday and Saturday at Hamvention.  But as I tweeted earlier,  I’m happy to be going either way.

Once I arrive at the event, I’ll probably do dome browsing at the flea market,  then my first forum to attend will be the Intro to Digital Mobile Radio at 3:30.  I’m looking forward to this because I’ve been very active on DMR for the past few months.

Tonight I’ll be on Echolink on the KM5HT-R repeater at 7pm Dallas time to talk to some friends about Hamvention.  Join me if you can.
